How to Order

The Whereabout Supply website is based on the highly successful Magento software platform and features a very user friendly Shopping Cart with heaps of features to make your ordering or buying process simple and easy. Below we have detailed the basic procedures and features that will assist you when using the shopping cart. First time users can either register or place an order as a guest.  This option will appear when you reach the checkout page.

If you intend using our website on a more frequent basis then we suggest you register (also referred to as create an account). This allows you to go straight to the account dashboard (see details below) and allows order confirmations to be quickly and easily sent to you.

 

For Guests

Add to your shopping cart as detailed below.  When you have completed your purchase you will be prompted to enter your delivery and payment details.

 

For Registered Users

Login and enter your email address and password (that you set when you first register). You will go to the account dashboard page. Select from the My Account menu or Categories menu to proceed.

 

Next

Select items from the featured products on the home page and add to cart, or select from the categories menu to order or browse. Click on the major category headings to expand the menu to sub categories. Category products will be displayed on your screen.  You can change the number of items displayed or the order in which they are displayed.

Choose items from the selected subcategories and add to the shopping cart. At any stage you can click on the image and expand it and this will give you all the details of the product.  Click on continue shopping and then the Categories menu to add to your order.  The order quantity defaults to 1. When you change the quantity you will need to click on the update button.

When you have finished your selections you can review them on the screen and remove or change quantities, click on Update and the click on Proceed to Checkout. A security warning message (this is a secure site) will appear.  Click Yes.

You will move to the Checkout screen which is divided into 5 sections.

Billing Information.  This will default to the address that you entered when you first registered (you can add additional addresses in the My Account section).  There are two delivery options. The default is to ship to the billing address or you can select another address from the address book.

Delivery Information. If your billing address and delivery address are the same, you will automatically skip this page and move straight to Delivery Method. If you want to ship to another address select from the drop down menu.  You can have multiple delivery addresses which can be added in My Account.

Delivery Method. This screen prompts you to select the delivery area and the delivery charge that is applicable to your area. To check your area and the rate that applies click on the Features menu and Delivery Information.  A detailed delivery schedule will download. Confirm your delivery area and rate and close the download screen.  You will return to the Delivery Method screen. Make your selection and add any comments that are relevant for your delivery. These may include instructions for our sales staff or detailed delivery instructions to assist our driver. Continue to the payment Information process.

Payment Information.   You will be prompted to select Credit Card or Existing account. If you select the credit card option, follow the prompts to enter your credit card details (see Credit Card Purchases below). If you select existing account enter a purchase order number if required and continue. 

Note: You must have an existing 30 day account with Whereabout Supply to use this option.  If you wish to apply for an account download the account application from the Features Menu.

Order Review.  Review your order and charges.  You can still add other items here if you want.  Just select edit to add more items. All the information you have entered in the checkout process will be saved. Click on Place Order. Your order will be processed and you will receive a confirmation email.

At any stage you can leave the website and any items in the shopping cart will remain there.  When you return select My Cart from the menu bar to open up the shopping cart and continue ordering.

 

Magento Shopping Cart Features

My Account

  • Account Dashboard
    • This provides a snapshot of your recent orders and Account Information.
    • From here you can edit your account information and change your password.
  • Address Book
    • Here you can edit existing billing or shipping addresses.
    • You can also add multiple delivery addresses.
  • My Orders
    • You can view all your previous orders
    • You can select an existing order and open it to reorder. Once it is opened you can add or remove items or change quantities. This is an extremely handy feature for customers who regularly order the same items.

 

Favourites

When an item is expanded in the shopping cart you can add it to a favourites list.  This is good for frequently used items.  When the favourites list is open you can add comments to a product. The Favourites list appears on the menu bar or you can also access it in the My Account section.

 

Compare

As with favourites, when a product is expanded in the shopping cart it can be added to the Compare List. This is useful when you have like products (up to 5).  When there are items in the Compare List it will appear on the home screen list. Click on compare and the items will be displayed side by side so you can easily compare the details.
